Nicholas Sparks

Hey guys! Welcome back. It’s Friday which means it is time for our Friday Favorite. Today is all about the one and only Nicholas Sparks. I admire so many things about this man. His writing style, his success, his outlook on love. Everything. I have thoroughly enjoyed every book I have read of his, I have loved all the movies I’ve seen, and there are even some quotes that I feel are definitely worth mentioning. Nicholas Sparks is one of my favorite authors of all time.

So we are going to get started with books. I have read quite a few of his books and would like to mention a few of my favorites.

The Guardian: This is the first Nicholas Sparks book I ever read, so obviously it has to be on this list. Because if I didn’t like this one I probably wouldn’t have read anymore. But this book is about a woman whose husband dies and he leaves her two things: his best friend and a puppy. The woman and her husband’s best friend don’t immediately fall in love, but you can definitely sense a connection. But because of the one thing they have in common (the dead husband) they hold back. And to make things even more complicated, the main character has a creepy stalker throughout much of the book.

At First Sight: I loved this book! It probably is my favorite if I had to choose one. It’s about a guy from the city (New York I think) that goes to North Carolina for work. He is a writer and is researching some lights in a local cemetery. Only planning to be there a coupe of weeks, he meets a young woman that works at the library. Basically they hook up and she gets pregnant. Long story short they have to decide what to do because he doesn’t live there and they are not in an actual relationship.

A Bend In the Road: This book has a plot twist like you wouldn’t believe. A single dad living with his son after his wife died in a car accident. The child’s teacher, a young woman, offers to help with the child after seeing him struggle in school so much after his mother’s passing. The dad and teacher fall in love. But there is one thing that ties them all together in a way you wouldn’t believe.

Those are my top three book favorites. I don’t want to go on forever, so now we are going to move on to movie favorites.

The Best of Me: I didn’t read the book, but the movie was excellent. I loved the cast and also the story. I can’t really give a good synopsis about this one without giving too much away, but if you are interested a quick Google search will get you exactly what you need.

Safe Haven: Another great story with an epic plot twist. After trying to escape her past and assume a new identity, Katie (Erin) falls in love with a single dad and starts anew.

The Longest Ride: Probably my favorite movie of all time. It’s got just enough action, and love, and humor. It’s the perfect romantic comedy. Another one you may need to Google though because my explanation could get confusing.

Now moving on to quotes. There are far more than three, but I wanted to adequately devote some time to this. Because there are so many excellent quotes from Nicholas Sparks out there and I want you to have a great list of my favorites.

“Love is like the wind, you can’t see it but you can feel it.”

“I am nothing special, of this I am sure. I am a common man with common thoughts and I’ve led a common life. There are no monuments dedicated to me and my name will soon be forgotten, but I have loved another with my heart and soul, and to me, this has always been enough…”

“I finally understood what true love meant…love meant that you care for another person’s happiness more than your own, no matter how painful the choices you face might be.”

“Just when you think it can’t get any worse, it can. And just when you think it can’t get any better, it can.”

“You can’t live your life for other people. You’ve got to do what is best for you, even if it hurts some people you love.”

“Sometimes you have to be apart from people you love, but that doesn’t make you love them any less. Sometimes you love them more.”

“I love you. I am who I am because of you. You are every reason, every hope, and every dream I’ve ever had, and no matter what happens to us in the future, everyday we are together is the greatest day of my life. I will always be yours.”

“When you’re struggling with something, look at all the people around you and realize that every single person you see is struggling with something, and to them, it’s just as hard as what you’re going through.”

“Nothing that’s worthwhile is ever easy. Remember that.”

“I love you more than there are stars in the sky and fish in the sea.”

I hope you enjoyed this. Let me know what you’re favorite Nicholas Sparks book, movie, or quote is in the comments below. Thank you so much for checking this out and please don’t forget to like this. Also be sure to follow this blog if you are not already and I will see you next time.
