Hey guys! Welcome back. As far back as I can remember I knew I wanted to teach. I always had a feeling that that is what I was born to do. However, once i started college and I officially declared my major, things began to change. I began to realize through the Education classes I was taking and everything I was going to have to do and commit to, I couldn’t. It’s not that it’s a complete waste to everyone. It’s just that I didn’t have the desire I needed to commit to and and be happy.
So I changed my major to English. And of course I got the question “What are you going to do with that?” from pretty much everyone I told. Not that it really matters, but I started thinking about it. There is a lot you can do with an English major with the right will-power. But in trying to figure it out I reached a conclusion that I hadn’t yet thought of. And it shocked me to no end.
I can still teach. I love college and I love teaching. I can use my degree, further my education, and one day become a college professor. It’s not a simple, easy task, but it is a loophole combining things I love. However, I didn’t stick with English either. A few weeks ago I switched to History because I found that I love that more. My passion and goal in life is to one day teach College History.
I tell you this story to inspire you to do what you love. Follow your passion, even if your first plan doesn’t exactly work out. There is always another, better option out there. You just have to keep looking. Don’t give up in the first round. And remember, money isn’t everything, but you do need it to survive.
Choosing your college major is an important and significant one. It has to be something that both will give you a paycheck and will allow you to do what you love and be happy. So if you don’t know, keep looking and exploring. It will come to you.
Thank you so much for reading! I hope you enjoyed this. Please like it if you did. Let me know if you have any requests or questions you would like me to answer. Also, let me know what your major is. I’m excited to learn. Don’t forget to follow before you leave if you have not already and I hope to see you next time!
