To The College Girl With An Old Soul

Hey guys! Welcome back. I hope you are enjoying your weekend (regardless of how you choose to spend it). I have a ton of homework and other things to do, so that is how I will be spending my time. Let me know in the comments how you are spending your Saturday and if you are enjoying it. Let’s get started!

You are the girl who would rather stay in on Friday night than go to a party. You are the girl that doesn’t date a guy you haven’t met before. You are the girl that would rather get their homework done early so you can go to bed before midnight. You are the girl that cares more about the future and your goals than about the event you miss one time. You are not alone. There are plenty of girls out there on the same scale you are. There are many girls that are judged for wanting to stay in and have some coffee than go out and have some alcohol. There are plenty of girls who would rather stay in on Saturday night and read a book or watch Netflix than go out and get drunk. But there is nothing wrong with deciding to stay in.

While there are plenty of girls who choose to stay in and do their own thing, it’s not exactly a social norm. Going to parties on weekends is known as a quintessential part of college life. You have not really experienced college if you haven’t been drunk at least four or five times. Being a college girl with an old soul may not be a social norm, but there is absolutely nothing wrong with you. You are living life exactly the way you want to live it, and in all honesty you are probably a lot safer than those who go out and get drunk. Not that there is anything wrong with girls that do that. If you are happy, there is nothing wrong with what you choose to do or how you choose to spend your time. It’s not up to anyone else and their opinion should not be a factor.

You don’t have to vulnerable, adventurous, or wild to enjoy college. You can enjoy college if you are doing things that make you happy and you have friends that enjoy living the same way you do. Even if you don’t have friends like that, you will likely come across them at some point during your college experience. It is acceptable to go out and get drunk, make a fool of yourself, and wear clothing that is a little too revealing. But at some point, you have to grow up. If you have already reached that point you are one step ahead of everyone else who hasn’t. So hold you head high and be proud of who you are.

Choosing to stay in on the weekends does not make you boring. Nor does it make you better than those who do not. It simply makes you you. You should be confident enough with yourself and your personality to know what is best for you. So don’t be ashamed if you would rather stay in your room on Saturday night than go to that party everyone else seems to be going to. Because you are not alone. Keep living life in the manner in which you choose and be happy.

Don’t ever stop living life the way you want just because everyone else seems to be doing something else. Don’t ever let anyone convince you that staying in your room is the wrong way to “do college”. Because guess what? There is no wrong way. People may judge you, but there are also people judging them. Don’t let it affect you. Learn to be comfortable with who you are and happy with the life you are living. Don’t ever stop being you.

Thank you so much for reading! I hope you enjoyed this. Please like it if you did. Don’t forget to follow before you leave if you have not already and I hope to see you next time!
