Hey guys! Welcome back. Dorm spring cleaning is a lot different than regular cleaning. This is serious. You need to really get stuff together so that during finals you are working and living in a clean and organized space. If only you could see my desk right now. Heck. If only I could see my desk right now. Literally. I can’t find it! So in the spirit of motivating myself, I thought I would motivate you guys as well. So let’s do this together! Seriously…someone come help me.

The first thing is something I consider to be important when you are cleaning, especially deep cleaning. Make your bed. I know you are just going to get back in it later, but for now you will more likely feel better if your bed looks put together.

The next thing is something that I despise doing. Laundry. Wash and dry and dirty laundry and then put it all away.

File your papers. These last few weeks have been spent not cleaning. So if you are like me you probably have papers, notes, and other stuff all cluttered up. Get it all organized and put away. You will feel better.

Wash your dishes. We all like to think that we always immediately wash our dishes once we are finished with them, but sometimes that isn’t the case. So wash them and get them put away.

Wipe down surfaces and appliances. Especially where things have been cluttered up. Wipe down the sink (if you have one in your room), wipe down your dresser, your refrigerator, your microwave, and also…your door handle on both sides.

Sweep your floor. Or vacuum if you have carpet and have a vacuum.

Organize your desk. I recommend just taking everything off and only putting back the things that need to go on your desk. Put everything else in it’s rightful home. Wipe down the desk before you put stuff back on it.

And finally, take out the trash. It’s important to take out the trash. We all know why.

Something you could do that is completely optional is start packing. Pack away the things you don’t use and won’t use for the next month. It’s good to get an early start.

Things you might need:

  • A cleaning caddy
  • A filing system (I use folders)
  • Dish soap and sponge
  • Disinfectant wipes
  • Paper Towels or cleaning rags
  • Broom/dust pan or vacuum
  • A killer playlist to get you in the spirit (Do NOT turn on Netflix)

Thank you so much for stopping by. I hope you enjoyed this. Please like it if you did. Don’t forget to follow before you leave if you have not already and I hope to see you next time!
