Hey guys! Welcome back. As many of you know, I am a strong advocate for self-care in college. It’s super important not only to reduce your stress, but also to make sure you are taking care of yourself properly. Part of this is taking time everyday just for yourself. It is important to have a self care routine, but we don’t always have time everyday to go through an entire routine. However, there are things I like to do everyday that gives me that quality time with just myself that don’t take very long.

Clean my room. This may sound very boring and not seem like a fun way to spend my “me time”, but it’s actually great. I always feel better when my room is clean and I don’t have a lot of clutter sitting around. It helps clear my mind and helps me focus.

Watch a movie. I don’t watch a lot of movies, but when I want some “me time” and have some extra time, I will sit down and put on a movie. It’s great to just get out of my own head and escape into a different world for a while. If you have any movie recommendations, leave them below.

Eat alone. This is the thing that I do quite often for my quality time. It may sound strange, but one you get used to it it’s not so bad. I know that I have to eat and eating by myself gives me time for myself at least twice a day. I don’t always eat by myself, but if I’m needing some extra time I do.

Take a long shower. I typically try to keep my showers pretty short. But if I want some time for myself I’ll spend a little extra time in the shower. I will use a body scrub and a hair mask and really just enjoy it.

Go for a walk. I do this one everyday. Several times a day in fact. It allows me to clear my head and refocus. It allows me to calm down and just enjoy walking around and listening to music. There is something about it I just love so much.

Plan. I always feel better after sitting down and creating a to-do list either for the day ahead or the next day. I like to make my to-do lists at night for the next day so that it’s finished and I don’t have to do it in the morning. It gives me a solid idea of what the next day is going to look like.
