Hey guys! Welcome back. As we begin a new school year I think it is important to discuss routines and habits. It can be easy to fall into being lazy and not caring about how things get done. But that can get you into some major trouble very quickly if you aren’t careful. It’s good to have good habits in all aspects of your life. So today I am going to share some ideas on how to best create a routine and good habit.

Know how and when you study best. You can kind of center a stable routine around the time you best study. If you know you study best at night, you can block out time and do other things in the morning. If you study best in the morning, you know you have to get other things done at night. How you study will also help you know what tools and resources you need and also where you might need to study.

Have goals. It’s all for nothing if you aren’t working for something. Know what you want out of everything you do. Whether it’s classes, work, or relationships, know what you are putting in and what you expect to get out of it. Don’t just let things happen and never strive for anything. If you want something, you most likely will have to work for it.

Make time for every aspect of your day. Studying, sleeping, working, eating, relaxing, working out, etc. Anything you need to do as a part of your routine, make time for it. It’s okay to make things a priority. More than likely, if it’s not a priority, it won’t get done. So make sure your routine includes everything you might need.

Establish zones. Establish a work space, a relaxing space, and any other space you need. This will help you know what needs to be done where and this way you aren’t trying to do work while in bed and you are focused when you need to work. It’s just ideal to understand what part of your room is for what.

Notes And Journals. Notes and journals are important because that is where the important stuff you can’t remember is. Taking notes in class is important, but so is taking notes in everyday life. This way you don’t forget ideas, important dates, etc. It’s always a good idea to write things down that you might want or need later.

Hold yourself accountable. Be responsible for what you need to do. Don’t take the easy way out. Ask for help if you need it, but know that some things need to be done by you. You have to take care of yourself because no one is always going to be around to help you. This is where a routine and good habits are going to be beneficial.

Get enough sleep and rest. Even machines need a break every once and a while and you are not a machine. Make sure you are getting enough sleep and rest so your body can function to it’s fullest capacity. To do your best you need to feel your best.

Time blocking. I cannot stress enough how much time blocking helps me. I use Google Calendar for this and it helps me organize my entire day. Of course things come up, but for the most part having everything planned really helps me out. It helps me know exactly what needs to be done and when it needs to be done.

That is how I created my routine and habit building. What are some of yours? Thank you so much for stopping by! I hope you enjoyed this. Please like it if you did. Don’t forget to follow before you leave if you haven’t already and I hope to see you next time!
