Hey guys! Welcome back. One of the biggest things I have learned during my time in college is self-reflection is super important. It’s a way for me to evaluate where I have been, where I am now, where I am going, as well as where I want to go. When was the last time you took a moment to reflect on your life? It’s important to take that time because often it gives us a new perspective. Personally, I believe that self-reflection is one of the best ways to connect with yourself. Here are some reasons why I believe you should make self-reflection a regular part of your routine.

1. To make sense of things.

In order to move on to the future, you must first try to understand the future. Self-reflection can help you process your thoughts and feelings. Getting all of the things in your head out on paper will help clear your mind and understand your life better.

2. To uncover breakthroughs.

When I write things, I often end up with a solution to a problem or a new idea. I started my business because through my blog I learned that I have a voice and I can use it to help others find theirs. When everything is laid out before me, I discover what I need to do next and that is a valuable asset for me.

3. To challenge yourself.

Through self-reflection you learn whether you are where you want or need to be. If not, you learn what you need to be doing. If you are, you learn what you want to do next. Self-reflection gives you an opportunity to look at the past and the future and challenge yourself to try even harder.

4. To recognize change and track progress.

Self-reflection is the best way to see how far you have come. You can realize how much you have changed and grown and what things you have really thrived at. You can see if things you thought were significant are still significant and you can analyze your goals and see if you are still on track.

5. To increase self-awareness.

This seems obvious, but sometimes we aren’t aware of ourselves. We don’t always think before we do things and sometimes that leads s down some rocky paths. Self-reflection allows us to take a look in the mirror and develop that sense of self-awareness. You become aware of your strengths, weaknesses, and your limits. You become aware of what you thrive at and who you don’t do so well.

6. To accept yourself.

Self-acceptance is sometimes rather difficult to do. But when you self-reflect enough you learn to accept the past as it is and understand that nothing is always as it seems. You learn to accept that you are who you are for a reason and even if you don’t know that reason yet, there is still time. You learn to accept that not everything is in your control and only you can decide what happens next.

7. To live with more intention.

This is perhaps the biggest one. Living without intention is not really living. You need goals, dreams, and motivation to keep you going. Otherwise, life can get rather boring. It’s important to set your intention and it is difficult to do that without self-reflection.

Those are the reasons I believe in self-reflection. Thank you so much for stopping by! I hope this is helpful. Please like it if it is.
