Hey guys! Welcome back. I hope you are enjoying your week. Today I wanted to do a surprise post where I just sit down and talk to you about me. It’s kind of an updated version of the “Get To Know Me” Tag. Basically today I am just going to go more in depth. I’m going to talk about me, what I do, where I am, my blog/YouTube channel, and what is coming in the future. I just got really inspired to do this and I hope you find this enjoyable. If not, that’s okay too. I just wanted to do something a little different.
The first thing I feel like I should talk about is Love, Geeky Girl. Since this is my blog and we talk about blog related things here. I started this blog almost two years ago. It was June 2017. I have absolutely loved the past year and a half. Creating content and interacting with you all has been so fun and so rewarding. I have grown and learned things about myself and I can only hope that that continues.
I don’t know where the name “Love, Geeky Girl” came from. I don’t know why I chose that particular name. I do know that I originally wanted to have letter-type blog posts where I signed each one “Love, Geeky Girl”. Obviously that didn’t happen, but I liked the idea and the name, so I kept it. I didn’t want to change it an honestly it’s a growing brand, so I’m not mad about it.
This blog has been such a growing experience for me. I figured out that I have a voice and I can use it to better myself, and hopefully others. I learned that I really do love writing and creating content. It allows me to express myself in ways I wasn’t able to before. Honestly I don’t know what I did without blogging. This has been such a great creative outlet and I am so glad that all of you are joining me on this journey.
I don’t know what the future holds, but I do know that I hope blogging is a part of it for a while. I obviously love it and it seems to be working really well. The team is growing and getting stronger and I am excited to see where the future takes us. We will have merchandise very soon. When I get all of my ducks in a row and really settle on a few things. It has not been an easy process. So I hope you are all excited for that. But now we are going to move on to talking a little bit about me.
I have a strong survival instinct. I am a self-preserver. I like to take care of other people and myself. Whenever I am in any kind of situation, I am always aware and always at the forefront. I love safety and security, and when that is compromised in any way, I start preparing for the fight. Many people see me as passive, but I am a survivor. I know how to hold my own.
I tend to be very reticent about my thoughts and feelings. I don’t typically like to share myself with the outside world. But obviously with blogging, YouTube, and social media I had to get comfortable with that. One reason I really strive for that is because I want to be open. I want to connect with others and allow a good support system to happen in my life. I don’t share super private things, but I like to think I am pretty open.
Something that might be perceived as a negative thing is the fact that I always get caught up in the past. I am often reminiscing on things that have happened in the past, when I need to be focused on the present or the future. Maybe this is why I am a history major. I just love spending time in the past.
I tend to be very moody at times. I like to have structure and when that structure or plan is messed up, I get a little upset and defensive. I really like things to be a certain way and I tend to be against most change. Unless it is something that I am looking forward to, I don’t like to be uprooted. I like stability and to have things, and people, that I can count on. I want to know what is coming. I really don’t like surprises .
Blogging allows me to have stability and freedom. I am able to have flexibility while still having something to work on. I am very proud of the progress I have made as of late and everything that my team has done to help me grow. I have a passion for writing and growing my brand, so I look forward to the future.
I am a very big believer in self love and confidence. I don’t always portray my confidence in the way that I should, but I’m working on it. Honestly these platforms, and my job, really help bolster me and grow my self-esteem. I know that I am a work in progress, but I also have faith that things are going to work out for me in the end. So I am really excited to meet the future me.
That’s all I have right now. If you have any questions please feel free to ask. Don’t hesitate. I love when you all interact with me. Thank you so much for stopping by! I hope you enjoyed this. Please like it if you did. Don’t forget to follow before you leave if you have not already so you don’t miss any other updates and I hope to see you next time!
