Hey guys! Welcome back. I was thinking about this the other day, and it sparked me to write about it. The idea is that in the real world, everyone doesn’t get a trophy. You don’t get a trophy for showing up on time. You don’t get a trophy for doing your laundry or washing your dishes. You just don’t. No one is going around giving trophies to all the people who do what they should already be doing.
The truth is, I don’t think we deserve to be praised for what we should do anyway. What we should be praised for are the things that we do that go above and beyond. Such as going out of your way to help someone, working late or going in early, and things of that nature. Getting to work on time and doing the things that are already on your job description does not entitle you to any kind of special reward.
That’s not to say that it’s not important or good to do these things. It is. All I’m saying is that it doesn’t mean you automatically get a reward from anyone. It’s just living life the way it is intended to be lived. You are doing what you are supposed to do just as everyone else should be doing. It’s the extra things that put you over the top. Those are the things that deserve to be recognized specifically.
Not everything is easy and your life won’t always be perfect. You will not be perfect. We all have setbacks, bad days, and mistakes we wish we could erase. But that’s all a part of human nature. We all have good days, progress, and moments we wish would go on forever. That’s also a part of human nature. The good and the bad help make us who we are. And that’s the same for everyone. It doesn’t entitle us to anything special.
The life you live has to be meaningful for you. You can’t do things just because you want recognition. You deserve better than that. You deserve to have a life that you feel is worth living. If not, you’re not doing something right. Thank you so much for stopping by! I hope you enjoyed this. Please like it if you did. Don’t forget to follow before you leave if you have not already and I hope to see you next time!
