Hey guys! Welcome back. I hope you enjoyed your weekend. I wanted to share with you a few tips on how to stay organized all the time, not just when you deep clean and declutter. These are tried and true tips that work for me and I am sure will work for you. Organization is a huge deal because for most people, we can’t work when things are a mess. So here are my tips for staying organized all the time.
Go minimalist. While it is helpful to have organization spaces and things that help you stay organized, but these things can also take up space and cause clutter. Also, removing things you don’t need or aren’t things you really want will help you stay organized because you aren’t trying to sift through things that aren’t important and are just in your way. Getting rid of the items you don’t need and not buying things you really don’t need is one of the best ways to stay organized all the time.
Daily routines. Daily routines like cleaning, habits of putting things away when you are finished with them, and preparing for your next day the night before will help you stay organized. Your morning and night routine should help you in staying organized. Making to-do lists and writing things down will help you remember and keep you on track. Staying organized on a daily basis won’t happen overnight, so it is important to write things down and keep track of your progress.
Weekly routines. Daily routines are important, but you also need weekly routines where you do the bulk jobs that you can’t always get to daily. These include laundry, deep cleaning, decluttering, and things of that nature. If you designate one of these tasks per day you are more likely to want to keep doing them. It is difficult to get motivated if you try to do them all in one day. So giving yourself a task per day breaks it down so you keep working towards staying organized.
Manage your to-do list. I am a big fan of to-do lists, but if they aren’t concise they aren’t doing any good. When it comes to organizing, it is important to remember that having vague general items isn’t a good idea. They won’t really help you in the long run. Instead of saying “organize desk”, break up the tasks like “sort through papers”, “remove things that don’t belong”, “wipe down”, etc. These are specific things that help the job get done instead of you looking at it not knowing where to begin.
