Hey guys! Welcome back. Today I am going to share with you how I improved my skin. I have never really had terrible skin, but I do have really dry skin. So I wanted to balance it out a little bit and give it a little bit of life again. So I started incorporating a few things to my daily routine that have really helped my skin out. I notice a huge difference when I don’t do even one of these things. But before I share mine with you, let me know in the comments what you do to help your skin, along with what skin type you have. Now let’s go on with how I improved my skin.
Hydrate. Drinking water is super important, but I started to notice that my skin looked so much better when I started drinking more water. It helps keep it from looking dull and heavy. If I don’t stay hydrated I notice my skin is more dry and irritated, so I drink as much water as possible. It’s already important, but this is just another benefit of drinking as much as possible.
Moisturize. Once I realized how important moisturizer is, I knew there was no going back. No matter your skin type, you need a good moisturizer. It helps hydrate my skin and keeps it moisturized all day. My day time moisturizer has SPF in it because I try to spend as much time outside as I can. But more on that later. I use moisturizer day and night. My night time is a little heavier so it can sink into my skin and I can take it all in. When I wake up I feel refreshed and moisturized.
Fresh air. Fresh air is so important when it comes to improving your skin. When it’s warm I like to walk around outside. The sunshine and fresh air on my skin helps it. It helps me relax and breathe which is important because I have noticed when I am stressed or not in a good mood, my skin gets irritated more easily. So spending time outside helps boost my mood which therefore makes my skin less irritable.
Get more sleep. It’s difficult to do as a college student who has as much going on as I do, but I know if I don’t get sleep I will get stressed which causes break outs. So I get as much sleep as I can because just like drinking water, it’s good for my overall health. I always try to sleep at least eight hours so I have a good balance. That way I don’t stress the next day and I don’t feel tired and my skin has time to rest before a new day.
Don’t over wash. It’s important to wash your face, but washing it too much can strip your skin of it’s natural oils that it needs. I wash my face once or twice a day and I use a gentle cleansing lotion that isn’t too harsh on my skin. I also don’t have a large skin care regimen. It’s just washing and moisturizing and sometimes a serum and face mask. But I usually only use a face wash, eye cream, and moisturizer.
