Hey guys! Welcome back. I hope you are having an excellent week. Today I wanted to talk about my business and all the things I get questions about and other things people want to know. I talked a little bit about it when I introduced my boutique, but I thought I would go a little more in depth today in this post. So I am going to share with you how I started my business and why I chose this particular business and all the things that come with that. I started my business about seven months ago. It only launched about a month ago, but more on that later. One day I was scrolling through Facebook, like I do, and I came across someone advertising a workshop about starting an online business. I have always wanted to start a business, but like so many people, I didn’t know how. I didn’t think it was really practical right now anyway, so I held off until I was sure I could fully do it.
But then I watched this video and thought maybe it was possible. There are several different ways to run an online business and the woman in the video talked all about her business and how she started. It seemed crazy, but I kept watching. At the end of the video there was a form to fill out to get a 30 minute phone call with her. So I decided to fill it out and get a phone call with her. It was mostly to see if it was legit, but I also wanted further information.
When we got on the phone she was telling me about this course that she had that would help me start my online boutique. She said it was possible and every goal I had, and more, was achievable. The only issue was her course she was offering would cost money I didn’t have. I told her I would have to wait a week until I got paid to start to the online course. So I got off the phone and started thinking.
I thought about the video and everything she said about starting a business. I remember the drop shipping method she had been talking about and all the tips she had already given me. So I decided to start doing research and figure out what I needed to do. I figured if I could do it on my own I wouldn’t have to pay someone to teach me. So I kept doing research and by the time the week was over I decided to just keep going on my own. I didn’t want to pay for the course. It was just too much.
So I started doing research in my free time, creating a business plan, marketing strategy, and more. I kept working on it and by the time March came around I was ready to launch my boutique. The only issue was no one knew about it and I was really scared. I toyed with the idea for about a month when I decided now was as good a time as any. There was no reason to wait.
So I launched Inspire Collaborative Boutique in April. I hope it continues to grow in the future and we can become a booming business. My goal is to one day make this my full time job. I launched a boutique because women’s fashion will never go out of demand. People need clothes and starting a boutique was the most practical.
A question I get all the time is why I didn’t start a makeup line. Makeup lines are so complicated and there is so much that goes into it. They are really big deals and it takes a lot of work. A boutique is also a lot of work, but there is a lot of science, chemicals, and so much more that goes into starting a cosmetic line. Maybe someday, but not right now.
