Hey guys! Welcome back. I really want to start doing monthly Q&A’s because you guys really seem to enjoy them and I do too! So every once in a while I ask you guys for questions on Instagram and I get a lot of questions sometimes. So I save them and write them down for future Q&A’s. So today I will be answering quite a few questions. If you have asked a question and you don’t see it, don’t worry, it may show up in a future post. But for now, let’s get into the questions I have for today.

1. Do you play any instruments? If not, what would you choose?

I do not play any instruments. I never learned. I think it I had to choose I would want to play the piano. It’s so practical and I think people who can play the piano are really cool.

2. What is your process for choosing what to write about?

I have a lot of different processes. I usually just go off of my gut and what feels right. If someone has asked me to write about something specific I try to fit that in as soon as possible. But I keep a notebook full of ideas so I can just pull from that if I am struggling to come up with content ideas. It’s definitely not easy and sometimes I can’t come up with anything.

3. How do you structure a day and a week with the variety of priorities you are balancing?

I base it off of priorities. I know what I need to do and what is the most important. Like I know if I need to get things done for the blog, I schedule that first. If it’s something for the business, I do that first. Sometimes one thing will be more of a priority than everything else. Like today was wedding dress shopping. That was my priority. I made sure everything else that needed to be done was taken care of prior or made time to work on it after. It’s all about prioritizing and giving yourself a break.

4. Do you have any travel plans?

Unless heading back to school counts, no.

5. What do you see your business in the next few years?

Hopefully it is a booming business with a lot of traction. I hope to see it expand and for me to have a steady income from it.

6. What do you think of minimalism?

I think it’s great if you have the willpower. It is definitely something I will consider when I get a place of my own. The less clutter I have, the happier I will be.

7. What are you involved in outside of classes?

I am a Resident Assistant so I help other residents and keep everyone safe. I also work at the campus bookstore. Other than that I am usually doing homework, going out with friends, or working on this. Also, Netflix.

8. What are your current top five sources of inspiration?

I assume this means in general? It didn’t have anything specific. I would say my biggest sources of inspiration are God, my sister, my relationship, my followers, and other people’s success stories.

9. How do you find the time and motivation to keep up with your blog?

Coming up with time is easy because it is something that I enjoy so much, so I always make time. But to be honest, I’m not always motivated. Some days I don’t want to and I just take a break. The biggest thing for me is just always knowing that it’s okay to rest and take a day off. When the motivation comes, I get back to it. It’s important to understand that you don’t always have to be motivated.

10. Can you discuss anxiety and how you have struggled with it?

I have struggled with anxiety for quite a while. It has a lot to do with the way I grew up. But I have learned how to manage it. I am much stricter about getting enough sleep and being kind to myself. It makes a world of difference. I have also found people that I can turn to that really help lift me up. Anxiety is something that I feel like I will always struggle with, but I also know that overcoming it takes time.

11. Do you have any pointers for developing self-esteem?

Always be yourself in every situation. If you are not out-going, don’t pretend to be. If you’re not a super calm and collected person, don’t act like you are. Just be you. Once you let yourself just relax and be who you are, you will become more confident. You are the way you are for a reason. Don’t try to be someone else. This significantly decreases your self-esteem and causes you to think you aren’t good enough.

12. What are some things you really like to splurge on?

Ummm…makeup??? But really skin care. It is so important and I fully believe worth the investment. Makeup covers your skin, but skin care really helps it and it is what really makes the difference in the long run.

13. How do you practice self care?

I listen to myself. I know when I am doing something that is beneficial and when I am not. Sleeping is a big thing. Working out, drinking water, and staying organized also really help. I make sure I am taking care of myself the way I feel like I need to be.

14. How do you find the strength, motivation, or power to go on when you’re having a bad day?

I don’t. That’s just the simple answer. If I’m having a bad day, I don’t try to fake it. I put down whatever I am working on, go to bed early, or do something that brings me joy. I don’t power through. Because I have learned to recognize that I don’t always have to be put together. It’s okay to have an off day every once in a while. Because I know that I will get up the next day and pick up where I left off.

15. If you could have dinner with any three people (dead or alive) who would they be?

My grandma, Eleanor Roosevelt, and Ellen.

16. What is your schedule? Do you keep “regular” business hours?

I don’t really have like a consistent schedule. Which means no to the business hours. I base my schedule off of my priorities for each day.

17. Advice for starting a blog and not getting caught up in things like followers?

My biggest advice is to start your blog for you. Don’t think about anyone else reading it. Just think about writing it for yourself. You won’t worry as much about the numbers. Just start writing great content that you are proud of.

18. How do you stick to habits in order to achieve goals?

I schedule them in my calendar. If it is scheduled, I am much more likely to do it.

19. How can I set value-based intentions while dating?

Stay true to who you are and what you believe in. Don’t allow yourself to be manipulated or controlled by anyone. There is someone out there who will respect and love you for you. Your intentions should always reflect the kind of relationship you are looking for.

20. How long should I pursue my dream before moving on and letting it just be a hobby instead of a career?

This is a tricky question. I’m not sure there is necessarily one right answer. But I think for me it’s just about how you feel. If you get to a point where you just don’t want to put in the time and effort anymore, you should just let it go. If you are no longer passionate or motivated, it’s okay to just have it as a hobby.

21. What are some things you hope to do in life outside of your career?

Hopefully have a family. That’s one of my biggest goals in life.

22. What do you do when you hit a road block? Not an external one, but a mental and personal one?

When I hit a road block I try to just step away. Nothing good comes from worrying and it usually takes time to work through it. So I give myself some space and try to clear my head. I’ll come back to it when I’m ready and prepared.

Thank you so much for stopping by! I hope you enjoyed this. Please like it if you did. Leave other questions in the comments if you have them. Don’t forget to follow before you leave if you have not already and I hope to see you next time.
