Hey guys! Welcome back. Today I wanted to share with you my night routine for college this semester. I previously shared my morning routine for this semester and I decided to share my night routine as well. These are the things I do every night that help me prepare for the day ahead and close out the day I just had. Hopefully this inspires you to create your own night routine based on what works best for you.
Last minute homework.
I start my night routine by finishing any last minute homework. I try to get this done as early as possible, but sometimes there may be something that I need to finish or something that needs to be prepared for the next day. So I try to get this done first thing so I am not trying to do it right before bed.
Clean my room.
I like to take a few minutes at the end of every day to clean up around my room. I usually don’t do anything too heavy duty because that all gets done on Saturdays. But I put things back in their place, pick up any clothes, and get rid of any trash that is laying around from the day.
At this point I like to get a little more relaxed. I like to put on my pajamas and take my makeup off. I sit and relax. Sometimes I will watch some Netflix or YouTube videos. Just some time for myself after a long day. I like to read my Bible during this time and have some prayer time as well.
Drink some water.
I typically do this all throughout my night routine (as well as during the day), but I wanted to include it just so you know that it is a part of my routine. Drinking water is something that helps me feel a lot better and also has helped my skin and my hair. So I strive to hydrate as much as I can.
Check planner/update to-do lists.
I always try to plan the next day the night before so I know it’s done. It’s comforting to know exactly what I have going on the next day so I can have an idea of what to expect for the coming day. I try to time block things and make sure I have enough time to get everything done so I’m not stretching myself too thin.
Skin care/brush teeth.
This is one of the most important steps to my night routine, as it should be for everyone. I will share an updated skin care routine, most likely in a future YouTube video so stay on the look out for that. I believe that taking care of my skin is one of the most important things so I really strive to do skin care at least once a day.
I like to take about 15 to 20 minutes every night to read a book. Whether it is fiction, nonfiction, or any other kind of book, I like to take some time to read a book. It is my favorite way to wind down and get my mind ready to go to sleep. I am not as tempted to sit on my phone when I am reading so that definitely helps.
