Hey guys! Welcome back. I hope you are having a great week. Today I wanted to talk about mornings because how you start your day really does affect the rest of your day most of the time. So I wanted to share with you a few things that you can do every morning to start your day off the best way that you can. I believe that the morning is a sacred time and we should do everything we can to make it the best possible time. So here things I do to have a successful morning.
Get up early.
I always try to get up as early as I can. Getting up early allows me to get things done with little to no distraction. Most people aren’t up yet, so getting up early gives me the chance to cross things off my to-do list without worrying about anyone else’s needs. It also gives me a chance to wake up because I am not a people person first thing in the morning. So this gives me some alone time before I have to start dealing with people.
Have quiet time.
Getting up early obviously allows me to have this quiet time. Like I said, I am not a people person first thing in the morning. So having this quiet time allows me to enjoy some time for myself and get things done so I am less stressed later in the day. Quiet time allows me to plan for the day, get ready, and take my time and not feel rushed. Feeling rushed in the morning is something I absolutely hate.
Breakfast is my favorite meal of the day and I always strive to have a good one. Whether it is from the dining hall or something I make in my room, I strive to eat breakfast everyday. It helps me focus in class and keeps me from eating too much later in the day. It’s just such an integral part of my morning routine that not doing it really sets me off balance and my day is affected by it.
Some form of exercise.
Whether it is doing stretches and a light workout in my room or walking around outside for a few minutes, I like to get in some form of exercise. It really helps wake me up and energizes me. It helps me get ready for everything I have to do that day and it’s just something that I really enjoy doing. I know that it’s healthy, but it’s also just a way for me to have some quality time with myself for a few minutes in the morning.
Set priorities for the day.
I like to plan my week out on Sunday, so all I have to do every morning is write out my priorities for the day. I write down the four to five biggest things that I know need to be done and I make sure they are first on my calendar. This just helps me make sure that I am staying on track and keeping up with what I need to get done throughout the day. Then I worry about other things.
