Hey guys! Welcome back. As many of you may know, Netflix is one of my favorite things. However, it’s not always the most productive use of time. So today I wanted to share with you some much more productive things you can do with your time that aren’t watching Netflix. These are things that I know I need to do that I don’t always get done because I watch Netflix instead. So hopefully this list inspires you to do something productive. So let’s get into some productive ideas.
Make a short-term and a long-term goal list.
Having goals is super important and writing them down makes you more likely to remember them and work towards them. So spend some time writing down your goals and the things you want to accomplish. Then put them somewhere that you can always see them and they will be a daily reminder.
Bake something special or autumnal.
Who doesn’t love a nice sweet treat? Not only is baking fun and something you probably don’t have the time to do very often, but it also allows you to be creative if you want. So instead of spending hours watching Netflix, use that time to bake a special treat or try a new recipe.
Clean your refrigerator.
This is not one of the most fun tasks, but let’s be honest, it’s probably one that needs to be done the most. I know I need to clean mine and it’s a task I am not looking forward to. But I know I will feel a lot better once it is done. So while this may not be the most fun idea on this list, it’s at the top of my list.
Do something you know you will have to do on Friday.
By the time Friday rolls around I don’t want to do anything. So no matter what day of the week it is, look at your to-do list and do something that you know you need to do on Friday. Whether it is something you always do on Friday or something that you have pushed off for Friday that can be done now. You’ll thank yourself later.
Work on a hobby.
Whether it is picking up an old hobby, starting something new, or working on something you already have going, if you have free time spend some time working on that hobby. It’s a great use of time and you will feel better and more accomplished. Hobbies are great and it’s a much better use of time than watching Netflix for hours every night.
Do that random thing you’ve been too lazy to do.
We all have those little things that we don’t want to do so they never get done. So take the time tonight to do that random thing. It could be folding your laundry and putting it away. It could be cleaning out your junk drawer. It could be cleaning out your refrigerator (see how I snuck that back in there?). Do the thing you’ve been putting off.
Do some reading.
Instead of Netflix, if you are starved for entertainment, pick up a book. Do some reading. Finish the book you started ages ago. Find a new book that looks really interesting. Reading is a great way to be entertained without having to stare at a screen for hours. Reading is one of my favorite things.
Go for a walk or try an at-home workout.
Again, it’s not super fun, but it’s definitely worth it. I love going for walks outside, especially in the evenings. I like to listen to music and just walk around and enjoy nature. But if that’s not your thing you can always try an at-home workout and burn some calories.
Wash/change your bed sheets.
Your sheets need to be washed every once in a while and there is no better time to do it than tonight. You can even do this while you are doing other things. Technically you could watch Netflix while you are doing this. But I challenge you to find something else that is productive to do while your sheets are washing.
Cleaning is something that I really enjoy doing when I have some extra time (and even when I don’t). It’s just super satisfying for me to have a clean room. It helps me feel more productive and organized. I like knowing that I worked hard and I have the results right in front of me.
Thank you so much for stopping by! I hope you enjoyed this. Please like it if you did. On the subject of Netflix, what is your favorite TV Show? Don’t forget to follow before you leave if you have not already and I hope to see you next time!
