Hey guys! Welcome back. Today I wanted to talk about something I haven’t talked about in a little while here on the blog. And that is my bullet journal. So today I thought I would share a little about how my bullet journal has helped me improve my mental health. These are things that have helped me, but I can in no way guarantee that it will work for you. However, I think it is worth a shot.
As many of you may know I have been struggling with depression and anxiety for several years. Since before I graduated from high school I have been battling these two major mental health issues. And I didn’t start my bullet journal in hopes that it would help my mental health in any way. However, low and behold it has really helped me quite a bit. And here are the ways it has done so.
I learned more about my patterns.
From tracking my money spending habits to my workout growth, I have been able to track my habits and the progress I have made. And seeing that growth and progress has helped me grow my confidence and self-esteem so much. I can track my fitness and my sleep patterns to make sure that I am working towards progress and growing into the person I want to be.
I can work through my anxiety.
Through making pretty designs on the pages to organizing the actual charts and things I am using, having a bullet journal allows me to have something tangible to focus on. So whenever I start feeling anxious or need something to distract and relax me, I pick up my bullet journal. I will either start writing through what I am going through or I will draw something on one of the pages.
I make all the lists.
One of my favorite things about my bullet journal is that I am free to do whatever I want with it. I am the only person who sees it so I can literally write or do anything I want. So I love writing lists. I write my to-do lists, wish lists, goals, references, and more in my bullet journal. It is such a satisfying feeling and one of my favorite things of all time. It helps calm my mind when I am overwhelmed.
I love the fact that I can use my bullet journal to be as creative and as organized as I want to be. I really think this is something that will help me for many years to come. I can see a big difference in my mental health. I can only hope that it continues to improve and I continue to grow.
Thank you so much for stopping by! I hope you enjoyed this. Please like it if you did. Let me know in the comments if you have a bullet journal and what your favorite thing about it is. Don’t forget to follow before you leave if you have not already and I hope to see you next time!
