Ten Ways To Boost Your Blog This Year

Hey guys! Welcome back. With a brand new year, it is time to start working on changing things up and boosting your blog. Whether you are new to the game or have been doing this for a while, there is always room for improvement and some things that can be boosted. So I am here to share with you ten things you can do to upgrade and boost your blog in 2020.

1. Make sure your brand is strong.

If you don’t know what your brand is, it probably means you don’t have one. One of the things I do in my coaching services is help people figure out what their brand is. Because a brand gives you direction and focus. It helps your audience understand who you are and what you are all about. So if you want to boost your blog and make it even better, start with understanding your brand and making sure it is strong.

2. Know who your target audience is.

Knowing your target audience is and understanding what they need and want from you is absolutely essential. It is important to know what kind of content they like seeing from you, what age group they fall in, and what they want overall. Listening to your readers’ feedback and interacting with them helps you know who is reading your blog and where the majority of them stand. Creating content specifically for that audience will help them want to stick around and ensure that they share it with the people in their lives.

3. Set the right goals and plan accordingly.

Growing your blog and getting it further and further over time means that you have to set goals. Goals give you a focus and a direction. I like to set monthly goals for my blog because it gives me something to focus on every month. One month might be growing my social media, another month might be getting a specific number of views or followers. Each month I like to set a few specific goals for myself as a target of what I want to hit. It helps keep me from getting overwhelmed while still growing.

4. Join a supportive Facebook group.

There are hundreds, if not thousands, of Facebook groups out there for bloggers and influencers. There are so many that are helpful and that you can join and be a part of a community. The Facebook group for this blog is all about supporting and encouraging one another. It’s a great place to ask questions, start conversations, and share your content. You can click here if you want to join. If not, there are many other amazing Facebook groups and any one of them would be extremely helpful and worth checking out if you are looking to grow your blog.

5. Use a planner.

Planning for your blog is just as important as planning for any other part of your life. Having a planner can help keep you on track of everything you want and need to do. You can write down when you will write blog posts, when they will go up, social media things you want to do, and so much more. Having a planner and utilizing it as much as you possibly can will help you greatly. You are less likely to forget when you want to do something and what is happening when. This keeps you on track and can help your growth tremendously.

6. Learn how to prioritize your work tasks.

It’s nearly impossible to get everything done in one day if you are doing it all by yourself. So it is important to learn how to prioritize what you are doing because if not, you might lose sight of what really needs to get done. Start with the three biggest things you need to do that day because those are the three that are likely going to help you grow the most. That way you don’t forget about them and lose out on that potential growth.

7. Get serious about social media marketing.

One of the biggest mistakes I made when I first started my blog, and I still struggle with it today, is social media marketing. Once I started on social media and got serious about it, I started to see how much of an impact it really made. So if you are looking to give your blog a huge boost, I cannot stress enough how important social media marketing and promoting is. Get on as many platforms as you can. You don’t have to post on all of them every day, but switch it up and post on at least one everyday.

8. Guest post on another blog.

Writing and sharing a post on a blog that is more established with a larger audience can help get your name and content in front of a lot of people who otherwise may not have found you. So if you want a boost and have a blogger you really look up to, ask them if you can guest post on their blog. And then be sure to link your own website in that post so readers can find your blog and follow if they want.

9. Focus on growing your audience.

Sometimes just taking the time to connect with your audience and interacting with your readers is a great way to boost your blog. It’s super simple and doesn’t take a lot of effort, but it has a huge impact overall. So when it comes to growing your blog, focus on growing your audience. You want a real audience that you can have a community with. These are the people who will read your content everyday and share it with the people in their lives. This will have a huge impact on your growth.

10. Ask questions!

It never hurts to ask questions. Ask your audience what they want to see from you. Ask them what they like and don’t like about your blog. Ask them what you could improve on. This will show that you are interested in delivering to them your very best and ensures that you are doing what you need to. Also, ask other bloggers questions. If there is something you don’t understand or need help with, ask a fellow blogger. They are likely to be more than happy to help you!
