13 Things You Shouldn’t Worry About In Your 20’s

Hey guys! Welcome back. I hope you are having a fantastic week. Today I wanted to share something that I recently shared with myself. I have been struggling a great deal lately with trying to have everything planned and get everything done that I need to. But the truth is, I’m only 22 and it’s okay that I haven’t got it all figured out. So today I wanted to share with some things that you shouldn’t worry about in your 20’s whether you are there now or you are about to be.

1. Getting everything right all the time.

No one is perfect and anyone who claims to be is lying. You don’t have to get everything right all the time. You shouldn’t expect yourself to. You just have to do your best and work hard. If you give all of your effort and really try to make things happen, then that’s all you can do.

2. Constantly justifying yourself and your decisions.

I am really bad about trying to have a reason for anything I do. I feel as though I always owe everyone an explanation. But the truth is, most people don’t expect you to justify what you are doing, and those who do don’t really need to know. You don’t have to justify how you live your life because it’s your life to live.

3. Finding “the one”.

Some people do find the person they want to marry when they are young and that’s great. But if you are struggling to find that person or you aren’t sure if you want to find that person, don’t worry. You have plenty of time. You don’t have to settle for anything less than what you want.

4. The likes you get on social media.

Social media is a really huge deal now and it can be easy to fall into the trap of constantly checking to see who has liked your posts and pictures. It’s also easy to feel down about yourself when you don’t get as many as you would like. But there are far more important things to be worried about.

5. Questioning whether to continue certain friendships.

Believe it or not you won’t remain friends with everyone you are friends with now forever. And when the time comes when you are questioning whether you want to continue being someone’s friend or not, the answer is actually quite clear. If you are questioning it, it is more than likely time to let them go.

6. Asking for help when you need it.

Asking for help is not a sign of weakness or failure. It doesn’t make you any less and you shouldn’t worry about it. If you need help asking for it is the only way to get it. No one should think any less of you. Asking for help is a sign of strength because it shows that you understand that you can’t do everything alone.

7. Having student debt.

Student debt is super common and it’s really not anything to be ashamed of. It means that you went to school and wanted to better yourself and work towards your goals and your dreams. So don’t worry about having it because a lot of people do. Just worry about paying it back as soon as you can.

8. Not having serious relationships.

Like I said before, it’s not super important to find “the one”. But it’s also not super important to be in serious, stable relationships all the time. Do what makes you happy, live your life, and when the time is right you will find a relationship you love. Until then, it’s not something to worry about.

9. Doing something because you feel obligated.

You should be doing the things that you want to do. You should be living your life in a way that makes you happy. You shouldn’t be doing things that other people want you to do just because you feel obligated or you feel guilty. Make decisions that are good for you and are what you want to do.

10. Comparing your accomplishments to others.

No one’s life is the same. No one does the same things all the time, deals with the same people, has the same struggles, and faces the same reality. Therefore, no one will have the same accomplishments. So don’t waste your time comparing what you have done to someone else’s. Just live in the moment and be proud of what you have done.

11. One-sided relationships.

Whether romantic or platonic, you deserve more than to be in relationships that are one-sided or that make you feel like you are doing all the work and making all the effort. So don’t waste your time and effort on people who are not doing the same for you. Spend time finding people who are willing to do the same for you and make it happen.

12. Other people’s opinions of you.

It’s just a fact of life that there are going to be people who aren’t your biggest fan. They will have negative opinions. But they don’t matter. Their opinions should not be a factor in what you do because it’s not up to them and less you let it. Do what you want and forget all the noise.

13. Fearing change.

Change is a constant part of life and being afraid of it isn’t going to do you any good or help you in any way. You have to learn to embrace change and let it help you grow. Learn to anticipate change and figure out how it fits into your life and what it can do to make you a better person.
