Weekly Recap #21: My Mental Health, Forced Relaxation, And Finally Cooking

Hey guys! Welcome back. It was another super interesting week and honestly it was a little long. So I am back this weekend with another weekly recap for you. And I will be sharing with you all the things that have happened to me this week. And as you can tell by the title, there are three major things that I want to cover while I share with you all the other things.

So last Sunday was my day off. I didn’t really do a whole lot that day. Finally finished watching Melissa And Joey (great show on Hulu by the way). But other than that nothing major happened that day. It was a really nice day of just hanging out and not relaxing. Those are my favorite days. The days where I can just have some time to myself and not worry are really great.

So on Monday I had to go to work. It was a long day too. I don’t really remember much of what happened that day. It was pretty standard. Going to work is never a super enjoyable experience for me, but I just try to make it through. Tuesday I wasn’t supposed to have the day off, but something came up and I didn’t make it in that day. I was only working four hours that day though, so I wasn’t super worried about it.

I worked again on Wednesday and it was another pretty basic day. Nothing super exciting. But this is where my mental health conversation really comes into play. So for a few weeks now there have been things happening and I’ve been dealing with things that have made life a bit difficult for me. I’ve been struggling with juggling everything and trying to figure out what I’m doing, where I’m going, and why on Earth I am where I am right now.

So Wednesday is when I really start struggling and I’m trying to pick myself up and keep carrying on, but if you struggle with depression or anxiety you know how difficult it is sometimes. Like you can be perfectly fine one day, but then you get up the next day and it’s a complete flip. So for the past few days now I have been struggling a lot with just trying to hold it together.

So Thursday was my next day off. And I really did my best that day to just relax. I spend a lot of time trying to force myself to relax because it just doesn’t come very natural to me. I am the type of person who is constantly doing something. Even if I’m watching TV, I am usually working on something. So when I do relax it’s mostly forced relaxation where I just can’t keep going anymore.

But on Thursday I did get to bake finally, so I am getting back into cooking. I am so excited for it because I have enjoyed cooking and baking for a really long time, but when I was in college obviously couldn’t do it as often as I would have liked. But now I’m finally getting back into and it’s going to be fun. Cooking is super relaxing for me, so maybe from here on out it won’t have to be so forced.

But Friday I went back to work. I only worked for seven hours, but it was a long and difficult day for me. I couldn’t believe all the things that I walked into and also had to deal with throughout the night. I just wanted to leave as soon as possible. And when I got home that night I was so upset because of some of the things I dealt with. But it passed and it’s all great now.

And Saturday I went out. It was my day off and I spent it shopping. I didn’t get a ton of stuff, but I did get a few things. We went to a book store and I got Bobby Bones’ second book (they didn’t have the first one). So I can’t wait to read it and share it with you. We also went to Ulta and I got some cotton pads, a mascara I’ve mentioned 1,435,496 times, and the It Cosmetics Confidence In A Gel Lotion. I am super excited to start using that and share my thoughts with you.

But that was basically my week. There are a lot of things that I can’t really share yet, but that have me on my wit’s end. My mental health is going through it right now.
