Battle Of The Gel Moisturizers: Garnier Vs. It Cosmetics

Hey guys! Welcome back. So anyone who has been around here for a while knows that I struggle with dry skin. I have always had super dry skin and moisturizing is very important to me. So there are two brands that have really great moisturizers, Garnier and It Cosmetics. I really love these two brands and both have moisturizers that I love and recommend a lot. Both brands have similar gel moisturizers. They are not identical, but they have similar qualities and descriptions. So I thought today I would do a little comparison since I have used both several times now. This is not a sponsored post and all opinions are 100% my own.

Starting with Garnier, the have a Rose Water 24 Hour Moisture Gel that claims to be lightweight and contains natural origin rose water and hyaluronic acid. Having used this moisturizer several times now, I will say that this is a really great moisturizer. It provides lasting hydration. I don’t know that it lasts for 24 hours because I moisturize twice a day no matter what, but it does last longer than most other moisturizers I have tried.

I like the way the moisturizer absorbs into my skin and it doesn’t leave that annoying greasy film on my skin. It is very lightweight so it sinks right in but keeps me feeling hydrated for a long time. It says it is suitable for normal to oily skin, but I have really dry skin and I really love it. This moisturizer is around $10-$15, depending on where you get it. You get 2.4 fluid ounces. It comes in a bottle with a pump, so that’s convenient.

Moving on, It Cosmetics has a Confidence In A Gel Lotion Weightless Moisturizer. I have tried the Confidence In A Cream Moisturizer and I have talked many times about how much I love it. Well this gel moisturizer is even better. It claims to provide 72-hour moisture which I do believe this because my skin has never felt better. It makes my skin feel super smooth and my skin looks more radiant and fresh.

When it says weightless, it means weightless. When you rub this in your fingers and start applying it to your face it sinks in almost immediately. It is super hydrating and leaves you feeling super fresh and hydrated. This moisturizer is $36 and you get 2.5 ounces. It comes in a bottle and has a pump. It is super refreshing and convenient which is great for people with dry skin.

As for comparing the two, they are obviously different in some ways, but similar in others. I don’t know that the Garnier moisturizer lasts for 24 hours because to me when I use it I still feel the need to apply more. But it does say it is geared more for people with normal to combination skin, so if you have those skin types it might last that long for you. I still think it is a really great moisturizer though and would gladly recommend it to anyone on a budget looking for a great moisturizer.

But my heart goes out to the It Cosmetics moisturizer. I know it is a bit more pricey, but the benefits make it well worth the price. It lasts a long time and I feel hydrated a lot longer when I use it. I think it lasts really well on my skin and I think if you can afford to invest in it that I totally recommend it. It really can’t be beat and when it comes to skin care I think investing a little more is totally worth it.
