The Skin Care Tips That Completely Changed The Game For Me

Hey guys! Welcome back. I get compliments all the time about how clear my skin is and how I don’t look as old as I am. And a big reason for that is how dedicated I have been to taking good care of my skin and having a good skin care routine. So today I wanted to share the biggest things I have learned that have helped me continue to have clear skin and keep it looking fresh and smooth.

Knowing my skin type.

Up until about three or four years ago I didn’t know anything about skin types or what it meant to have dry skin. I didn’t know that there were different products and methods for different people. So I wasn’t always using products that were super helpful. But once I learned that knowing my skin type matters, I created a skin care routine that really benefited my skin and I started using products that helped my skin. Knowing my skin type helped me know which products to reach for and which products to avoid. It ended up saving me from break outs, reactions, and so much more.

Not popping my pimples.

Even though I have relatively clear skin and I am pretty serious about my skin care routine, that doesn’t mean that I don’t still get break outs. I do get pimples sometimes. But I never pop them. I know from other people’s stories that it is never a good idea to pop pimples. I usually prefer to use a spot treatment or wait a little bit and they usually go away on their own. But popping leads to scarring which is not something that I want. So I try not to pick at my face too much and it goes back to being clear in a few days. I also drink a lot more water when I have a pimple. I’m not sure if it helps, but it makes me feel better, so that’s all that really matters.

Double Cleansing.

When I learned what double cleansing is, I realized I had been doing it for a while without even realizing it. On the days I wear makeup, I always take it off at the end of the day with a miscellar water. That also acts as a cleanser. And then I go in with my regular cleanser to clean again. And that’s what double cleansing is. It helps make sure all the dirt, makeup, and oil is gone from your skin. This helps keep my skin clear because it’s just making sure that everything is gone and it doesn’t get into my pores and cause any breakouts or anything.

Exfoliating.

Because I have dry skin I constantly have dead skin and dry patches on my face. In order to get rid of those and keep my skin feeling smooth and fresh, I use a gentle exfoliator that I know works for my face. This helps my skin not only look and feel nicer, but it also helps my skin breathe a lot better. So I try to exfoliate my face at least once a week, but if I have the time I will do it twice. But I never do it more than twice because if I exfoliate too often it is too harsh and that’s not good for my skin either. But once or twice a week gets the job done.

Always moisturizing.

Because I have dry skin I constantly need to add moisture back into my skin. So I moisturize twice a day, once in the morning and then again at night. In the morning I like to use a lighter moisturizer that has some kind of SPF in it, especially if I know I will be in the Sun a lot. At night I like to use a heavier moisturizer or a gel moisturizer because I have more time to let them set on my skin and really moisturize. Moisturizing is really important because if I don’t do it often enough I start getting dry patches on my face and it really itches and sometimes burns.

And those are the skin care tips that really transformed my skin! Thank you so much for stopping by! I hope you enjoyed this. Please like it if you did.
