Things I Do When I’m Feeling Down

Hey guys! Welcome back. I hope you are having a great week. So today I wanted to share some of the things I do when I’m feeling down. There are certain things that just really help me feel so much better and I felt it would be helpful to share some of them in case you needed some ideas or you were looking to try something new. Or maybe you’re just curious about how I pick myself up when I’m feeling down. Regardless, here are the things I do when I’m feeling down.

Write.

Writing is something I have always loved doing and it always lifts my spirits. So whether I am writing down how I’m feeling or just sitting down and writing out some blog posts, writing is something I always turn to when I’m feeling down. Writing helps me work through my emotions and gets them out of my mind and my heart. This way I am not swelling on the negativity or sadness all day and I focus on more positive or productive things that I need to get done.

Do something I love.

There are many things that I love, other than writing of course, and I often turn to the when I am feeling down. Partaking in things that I love helps me feel better and gets my mind onto things that I enjoy. These are things that really get me through day to day life, so I know I can especially depend on them on days when I need an extra pick me up. Doing something I love and enjoy doing is always an instant mood lifter and helps me get through the worst of days.

Treat myself.

Listen, I’m not advising that you go do something super extravagant and expensive every time you feel down and I’m not saying that’s what I do. But I do like to treat myself with a movie night, ice cream, or allowing myself to just take some time off. It really helps me feel rewarded for all of my hard work and going through all the things. I like to reward myself for accomplishments and pushing through with strength and perseverance. Treating myself is just one of the ways I like to lift myself up when I’m feeling down.

Do something that makes me feel good.

Usually this means doing my nails because when my nails start getting super chipped and start looking bad, nothing makes me feel better than a fresh coat of polish with a new color. But if I’m not doing my nails, sometimes this is taking a bubble bath, going for a walk, or listening to music. Of course, there are many things that make me feel good and it could be any number of things. But doing something that makes me feel good means I’m not thinking about things that bring me down.

Cleaning/Organizing.

For instance, last night I was feeling a bit down so I started getting some more packing done and going through things. It really helped lift my spirits and helped me cope with negative feelings I was having. Cleaning just helps me feel super productive and put together. Another thing I love doing is watching cleaning and organizing videos on YouTube because they are so satisfying and they really help make me feel so much better and more productive.
