Fall 2020 Night Routine

Hey guys! Welcome back. I promised you a night time routine and I am giving that to you today. I am excited that I have finally nailed down most of my routines and I honestly feel really good about this one. It’s not necessarily anything mind-blowing, but it’s nice to have and it’s always nice to share with you guys because I know you really enjoy these kinds of posts. So if you are interested in knowing more about what my typical night time routine looks like, just keep reading!

1. Eat dinner.

Now that I am basically on my own, it’s up to me to eat whenever I’m ready. And I use this time as a chance to wrap up the day and switch over to just relaxing and closing out the day. It’s usually between 6:00 and 7:00 when this happens. But the first thing I always do is make sure I have dinner because after a long day of working hard, it’s nice to eat a good meal. I also don’t like to eat too close to bed time because then I find that I stay awake and can’t sleep.

2. Tidy up.

After dinner I usually take some time to tidy up. I will clean my dishes and clean up any areas in the kitchen I used up. Then I will head to my room and make sure my floor is cleaned off and that my desk is straightened up. I will usually wipe down the surfaces quickly as well. Then I like to clean up the bathroom and make sure my skin is cleaned off and then I sometimes wipe it down with a disinfectant wipe if I feel like it really needs it. A clean space helps me relax the rest of the night.

3. Prepare for tomorrow.

After cleaning up I like to take a few minutes to get ready for the next day. It helps me feel more prepared and it cuts down on things I have to do in the morning so I can sleep a bit longer. But I like to look at my calendar and see what I have going on the next day. I like to know what I have to look forward to and if there is anything I can do that night to be extra prepared I do it. I try to plan out content during this time as well so I’m not going into anything blindly.

4. Take time for myself.

After all of the super necessary things are done I like to take time for myself. Whether that be watching TV, watching some videos, or working on a project that I want to get done, I like to take some time for myself in the evening. It’s a great way for me to relax and calm myself down before I get into bed. I find that I sleep a lot better when I take some time in the evening just for myself and I don’t stress and worry about anything. I also try not to work on anything during this time.

5. Read.

Reading is something that I have really tried to incorporate into my day as much as possible and this is just one of the best ways to do it. Not only is it the perfect time to get in some reading, it is also a great way to rest and relax before getting into bed. It also helps prevent me from looking at my phone or my computer too much right before I get into bed. So reading is definitely something I love having as a part of my night time routine because there are so many benefits.

6. Get ready for bed.

Right before it’s time to get into bed the last thing I have to do is get ready. I put my pajamas on and then I head to the bathroom. I take my makeup off if I wore any that day, I wash my face, I brush my teeth, and then I put on my eye cream and my moisturizer. It’s a pretty simple routine, but it works for me and I really enjoy it. It’s nothing too flashy, but it gets the job done. And then of course, I turn out all the lights and get into bed to get some sleep!
